Description

"J. WHATMAN, 1861" Watermark CT20/141D Contemporary Counterfeit $20 1861 PCGS Banknote Choice AU 58 PPQ.
The bright piece in this lot bears printed signatures and serial numbers handwritten in pink ink, and it is printed on entirely original paper watermarked "J. WHATMAN, 1861." This watermark also appears on T41 $100 Confederate Treasury Notes of 1862-63. A corner fold is all that precludes this example from achieving a higher grade.

Estimate: $150 - up.
