Description
Virginia March 4, 1773 20s PCGS Very Fine 35.The first example we have sold and by far the finest that we have seen. PMG has not graded any examples of the two lowest denominations from this issue. Eleven hundred 20 shillings examples were printed and even though the high denominations were printed in even smaller quantity, they are seen far more often. This is an extremely rare note in any grade and it's quite possible that this example is the single finest known. An incredibly important Virginia note bearing all of the key names in Old Dominion currency. Randolph and Blair have signed the note and Robert Carter Nicholas has endorsed it on the back as treasurer.
