North Carolina December, 1771 L5 About New. In our 36 sales, we have handled over 140 notes from this December 1771 issue. Of those, only eight have been this L5 denomination, and the best among them was another identical to this one which sold for $687.50 in November of 1992. This note has a light center fold and a little bit of handling, but it is beautifully clean, bright and extremely well printed. The back has only three endorsements. An absolutely lovely example of the scarcest denomination by far of this attractive and popular issue.Auction Info
