Description

New Jersey June 22, 1756 30s Very Good-Fine. A rare denomination no matter how you slice it. Most of the surviving examples from this series are nice uncirculated notes but these higher denomination notes are quite rare because they circulated freely in commerce and very few survived. This is only the second example that we have sold which is somewhat misleading since a check of our auction archives shows four entries, but those are all the same note auctioned a few times over the years. From the face this note is a solid Fine but the back is somewhat weaker resembling a Very Good note. This note is basically problem free which is a miracle considering that almost all of these early Jersey notes have some problems.
