Description
Georgia June 8, 1777 $3 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.Serial number 53 in this lot is one of only three examples that we have auctioned of GA-105a. The suffix "a" signifies that the word "in" has been printed in red ink. The example in this lot is one of three notes graded at the 35 grade level by PMG and none have been graded higher. We have auctioned only two other examples of this note. Our most recent offering was a PMG VF 30 that realized $960 in February 2021. The other piece that we auctioned was the Eric Newman example. It graded PCGS AU 58 Apparent and realized $1,880 in October 2015. Our current offering has a restoration in the area of the upper right corner which is close to being undetectable unless the note is backlit.
