Description

Georgia 1777 $5 PMG About Uncirculated 53.
This $5 was part of a series of typeset notes dated 1777 but without a resolution date. The note has a blue seal depicting a cannon with the motto ET DEUS OMNIPOTINCE (And God Almighty). The note's lower right border is not well inked, but other details and the signatures of Samuel Saltus, Benjamin Andrew, William Ewen, and William O'Bryen are bold. The note is fully framed, with a particularly broad left margin. We last auctioned this note in our 2021 FUN Currency Signature Auction for $2,640 and we anticipate similar results today.
