Description

Continental Currency September 26, 1778 $7 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
A total of $75,001,080 in Continental Currency was emitted under nine total Resolutions, passed between September 26, 1778, and July 17, 1779. Notes issued under these Resolutions bore an emblem on the face and a nature print on the back. Our current odd denomination $7 offering features a severe storm at sea with the motto SERENABIT (It will be calm) at left on the face. The nature print included on the back is of grape and sage. This piece is boldly signed by S(amuel) Lyon and R(obert A.) Roberts, and it retains nicely printed design details. Evidently, it did not spend any time in circulation, judging by its lofty Choice Uncirculated grade.
