Continental Currency September 26, 1778 $60 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.A globe is featured in the emblem at left on the face of this bright Choice Uncirculated $60 Continental. This vignette also includes the motto DEUS REGNAT EXULTET TERRA (God reigns, let the earth rejoice), inspired by Psalm 97. Francis Hopkinson was the individual who designed this emblem and motto as well as the emblems and mottos utilized on the $35, $40, $45, $50, $60, $70, and $80 Continental denominations' designs, though he was never properly reimbursed for his work. The back showcases an image of a bow. This charming piece sports bold signatures and serial numbers and will undoubtedly become a prized example of the next collection it graces. PMG comments on an annotation which is observed on the back along the bottom portion.
