Description

Continental Currency November 29, 1775 $5 PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ.
This fully framed Continental $5 was authorized by an Act of November 29, 1775, which put out $3,000,000 worth of Continental Currency into circulation. Our current offering, however, likely never saw a day in circulation. At left on the face lies the motto SUSTINE VEL ABSTINE (either survive or give up). We auctioned a PMG 62 representative with a lightened stain in October 2021 for $1,440. The note in this lot is free of meaningful condition impairments and has received the PPQ designation from PCGS for entirely original paper surfaces.
