Description

Continental Currency November 2, 1776 $8 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
Many Continental designs are well known for their symbolism within the emblems they bear. This $8 features an emblem of a harp with 13 strings of different sizes at left. These strings represent the 13 Colonies. The words MAJORA MINORIBUS CONSONANT (The large colonies and the small colonies are in harmony) surround the emblem. While this piece does exhibit even wear, it has survived circulation without attracting any consequential condition detractors.
