Description

Continental Currency May 10, 1775 $8 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
Part of the first issue of Continental Currency, this $8 note has a very symbolic emblem of a harp with thirteen strings with the motto MAJORA MINORIBUS CONSONANT (The large colonies and the small colonies are in harmony) along with a nature print of henbit and buttercup leaves on the back. The note has seen time in circulation but has survived the experience without attracting any repairs or significant impairments. The signature of Luke Morris, who only signed notes from this emission, is dark and clear.
