Description
Continental Currency May 10, 1775 $4 PMG Extremely Fine 40.This note was part of the historic issue of a true national currency authorized by the Continental Congress' Acts of June 22-23 and July 25, 1775. The face features an emblem of a wild boar charging into a spear with the motto AUT MORS AUT VITA DECORA (Either death or an honorable life,) while the back has a nature print of skeletonized maple fruit. The note is sharply printed on bright paper with very nice margins and has signatures of James Milligan and James Read. This $4 was previously mounted.
