Lovely May 10, 1775 $3 Note - The Sole Uncirculated Example Graded by PMG

Continental Currency May 10, 1775 $3 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.
This $3 was part of the first Continental Congress issue whose purpose was to fund the initial expenses of the independence effort. The note features the emblem of an eagle and heron fighting with the motto EXITUS IN DUBIO EST (The outcome is in doubt) on the face and a nature print of skeletonized elm and maple fruit on the back. A total of 49,000 $3s were authorized. This attractive note with clear margins and darkly inked penned information is the sole example to have received a CU grade from PMG.
