Description

Continental Currency May 10, 1775 $3 PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ.
A very lightly handled piece, this well printed $3 note from the first emission of Continental Currency features an emblem of an eagle battling a heron at right. The signatures of R(obert) Tuckniss and Rob(ert) Roberts, (Jr.), remain darkly inked on this representative, with Roberts' endorsement being applied in red ink. We have not auctioned an example of this number at this grade level since June 2021, when a PMG 58 encapsulated piece realized $1,020. Expect that figure to be reached, if not surpassed, tonight for this fully original beauty.

Estimate: $750 - up.
