Surprisingly, the $1 is one of the scarcest of all of the denominations of Continental Currency. This $1 was part of the original issue emitted by the Continental Congress placed in circulation in August 1775 and was intended to pay the initial expenses of the American Revolution. The note has solid edges and is completely intact with no repairs or meaningful condition impairments. The note was previously mounted.
