Description

Continental Currency January 14, 1779 $4 PMG About Uncirculated 53.
Part of the final issue of Continental Currency authorized during 1779 by seven resolutions, this red and black $4 has a rather striking emblem of a wild boar (printed in bright red) charging into a spear with the motto AUT MORS AUT VITA DECORA (Either death or an honorable life) on the face and a nature print of Mulberry leaves on the back. This note is boldly and beautifully printed on bright paper with good margins and has dark signatures of Robert Cather and David Wister. An additional handwritten annotation appears in the right margin on the back. A couple of pinholes are noticed.
