Description
Continental Currency February 17, 1776 $1/2-$1/2 Horizontal Uncut Pair PMG Extremely Fine 40.All Fugio sundial design multiples of February 17, 1776, are extremely rare. We found only three examples across all denominations in our archives, not counting our few offerings of single panes consisting of eight notes. Our three previous offerings also included the uncut pair in this lot that realized $1,175 in March 2016. There would be three examples of the $1/2 denomination on an uncut sheet of 12 subjects of four different denominations. The pair in this lot have plate letters A and B. Our current offering is net graded for a minor repair and stains, none of which is particularly distracting.
