Description

Continental Currency February 17, 1776 $1/2 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
A boldly printed example on both sides, this note showcases the dark red ink signature of J(oh)n Sellers. Benjamin Franklin designed the sundial vignette and the linked colonies device on the back. The rings of the latter have produced bold embossing on the face from the serial number down to Mr. Sellers' signature. The last example we auctioned in this third party grade was a PCGS 63 from the Eric Newman Collection. It went for $2,400 in November 2017.
