Greece National Bank of Greece 5 Drachmai 10.11.1897 Pick 42 PMG Very Fine 25.
Silver coinage was not as common in Greece as other European countries at the turn of the 20-century, and as such, small paper denominations were issued. This handsome note was equivalent to a silver crown. Once silver was hoarded, small notes were used until the paper was worn away. This excellent example does exhibit circulation, but was thankfully saved for posterity. All details are fully visible. The first we have offered.
