China Deutsch-Asiatische Bank, Shanghai 20 Taels 1.3.1907 Pick S292 S/M#T101-13c PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
Fully issued Deutsch-Asiatische banknotes are exceptionally rare, as issuance was not extensive. Interestingly, banknotes were issued denominated in both Dollars and Taels. This offering from the Shanghai branch of the bank is denominated in Taels and is the highest degree of rarity. At the time of cataloging, this is the first and only example graded in the PMG Population Report. Both manuscript signatures at front are bold and clear, and all other printed details display impressive visual appeal. Not to be missed, as the German-Asian bank issued notes only in 1907 and 1914, with only a scant number extant to be collected today. We have not offered this variety in issued format in the past. Staple holes are mentioned on the holder.
