Rare 14000 Charter Number First Offering Since 2007
Dalhart, TX - $20 1929 Ty. 2 First National Bank Ch. # 14199 PMG
Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.This quite lovely note comes from one of the rarest of the popular 14000 Charter Number banks. It is one of just four pieces reported from this Dallam County charter, one of which is locked away in an institutional holding. Tracing its provenance to The J. L. Irish Collection sold in 1997, this bright and fresh $20 is the only one of the remaining three notes to have ever made a public appearance, the last occurrence being in our 2007 Central States auction. It is a well margined and embossed note that is very close to the full Gem grade.
