Description

Attractive and Original Fr. 1210 $100 Gold Certificate

Fr. 1210 $100 1882 Gold Certificate PCGS Extremely Fine 40PPQ.
This very handsome example of this rare Friedberg number for the $100 Golds comes with full margins, ideal color, and original surfaces. It is one of just 31 serial numbers listed in the latest Track & Price census, with three of those being in the collection of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and a fourth in the Smithsonian Institution. Neither of the major services have graded an example above the 45 level for this Friedberg number. Four years ago in our 2021 Central States auction, we did sell another piece, in a PMG Extremely Fine holder (with no EPQ) for $9,600. This fully original note should do a bit better.
