Saint Louis, MO - $50 1902 Red Seal Fr. 664 The Third National
Bank Ch. # (M)170 PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.This beautiful example of this very tough type and denomination is one of only 108 $50 Red Seals reported for all the banks in the entire country, according to the National Currency Foundation census. However, of that number, nine are in various institutional holdings reducing even further the number available to collectors. This high denomination note is one of nine such pieces reported from this major St. Louis bank and, not surprisingly, one of the finest known from here. It is a real beauty, with its great color, bold signatures, and superb eye appeal, ranking it as one of the very nicest $50 Red Seals to be publicly auctioned in quite some time.
