An attractive piece legibly signed by R(obert) Tuckniss and Rob(ert) Roberts. The $30 denomination features the SI RECTE FACIES motto surrounding a tomb and wreath vignette on the face and dual vignettes on the back depicting a strong wind blowing across the waves and the sun shining over calm seas with the mottos VI CONCITATE and CESSANTE VENTO CONQUIESEMUS, respectively. Such mottos were intended to bolster the courage and resolve of the colonial citizens in their fight for independence.
