Description
Inverted "S" Surcharge Error Milton 2E25F.6UNL 25¢ Second Issue Experimental PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.The fiber paper Experimental in this lot is similar to Milton 2E25F.6f except for the fact the latter is printed on light colored thin bond paper. Our current offering only has a front engraving along with its bronze oval and a diagonal rubberstamped "SPECIMEN." The back does have the large bronze outline "25." It also has the bronze "S-18-63" surcharge where the "S" is inverted. The curlicue (anvil) in the "S" should be on the bottom, but the curlicue (anvil) is on the top when the "S" is inverted as in this case. The other end of the "S" surcharge is known as the "diamond." All three surcharges on this example are nicely defined. Two half-moon cancels were used on this Experimental.
