Obstructed Plate Error Fr. 1909-L $1 1977 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ.A very rare type of error that has been given the highest rarity rating of R9 in the Sullivan reference and which is discussed on page 430. A foreign object fell between the printing plate and the sheet of currency stock. In this case, the obstruction occurred in the lower left corner on this very lightly handled San Francisco $1 FRN.
