PMG Gem 66 EPQ Minneapolis 1934A $1,000 - The Sole Finest Graded
Fr. 2212-I $1,000 1934A Federal Reserve Note. PMG Gem
Uncirculated 66 EPQ.A simply gorgeous Minneapolis $1,000, this is the finest of just five examples to have received a CU grade from PMG, with none of the other four pieces graded above the 64 level. It is a well margined and nicely centered note that we last offered in our 2013 FUN auction. Displaying vibrant ink colors, bright paper, and fully original surfaces, this offering would be a centerpiece of any high denomination collection. By way of comparison, we recently auctioned a 1934A $1,000, also in a PMG 66 EPQ holder, from the much more common Chicago district for $18,600. This much scarcer Minneapolis district note will certainly exceed that realization.
Estimate: $20,000 - up.
