Fr. 41a $2 1862 Legal Tender PCGS Choice About New 55.The lovely Legal Deuce in this lot showcases boldly engraved green design elements on both the face and back. These overprints' printing was made possible by Cyrus Durand's invention of the geometric lathe. We offered a PCGS Extremely Fine 45PPQ example in our May 2025 US Currency Signature Auction which realized $3,840. That figure should easily be outperformed tonight for this lightly circulated beauty.
