Rare and Beautiful Oneida Original Series Ace
Oneida, NY - $1 Original Fr. 380a The First National Bank Ch. #
519 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.This quite lovely Original Series Ace comes from a very rare Madison County bank which issued First Charters only for less than ten years before liquidating early in 1874 when it was succeeded by a state-chartered institution, the State Bank of Oneida. It is one of just five notes reported from this tough charter and, not surprisingly, the finest graded of that quintet. As we said when we offered this piece in our 2005 Central States auction, "This note is a real beauty, with great color, signatures and paper quality. It offers everything a collector could want and more, combining true bank rarity and unusually high grade in one lovely package."
