Description
Attractive and Rare Fayetteville, NY Lazy Deuce
Fayetteville, NY - $2 Original Fr. 387a The National Bank of
Fayetteville Ch. # 1110 PCGS Banknote Very Fine 30.A great New York note, this is one of just three pieces extant from this prohibitively rare Onondaga County issuer. The only bank to issue in this community not far from the city of Syracuse, it opened as the Bank of Fayetteville in 1854 and converted to national status in 1865. However, after issuing just First and Second Charter notes, it closed its doors in 1894. Last on the market in our 2003 auction of The Bill Sabis Collection where it was acquired by our consignor, it is a most attractive note with excellent color and signatures and the eye appeal of an even higher grade. Even with PCGS Banknote mentioning a trivial edge split, this pretty note should attract serious bidding interest tonight.
