PPQ.A most attractive example, this early Series 1863 Legal Ten, which represents the variety with the serial number printed twice, certainly has the look of a Choice New note within its holder, with bright paper, brilliant colors, and original surfaces. Also, the vignette of President Abraham Lincoln at left looks particularly lifelike on this boldly printed example. Only upon very close examination can any evidence of handling be found. A note that we first offered in our 2014 FUN auction, it is certainly comparable to a PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ note that we auctioned last year for $13,800.
