Fr. 226 $1 1899 Silver Certificate PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.Friedberg 226 is the only number for the Black Eagle design that has the series date above the serial number. Also, Fr. 226 employs a lighter shade of blue for the overprint than the other Black Eagle numbers. The plate letter D example in this lot possesses perfect color, natural paper wave, and bold embossing.
