Fr. 37a $1 1917 Legal Tender PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.A popular engraving error with the Elliott and Burke signatures reversed, this type merited its very own Friedberg number starting with the 1955 second edition of Paper Money of the United States. This error was the result of face printing plate 1519 being engraved with the Treasury officer signatures transposed. This well preserved example is listed in the census, but it is crossing auction block for the first time.
