Berryville, VA - $20 1902 Plain Back Fr. 650 The First National
Bank Ch. # 7338 PMG Very Fine 30 EPQ.A great new discovery from one of Virginia's smallest and most thinly capitalized issuers. The only bank to issue in this northern Virginia location, the First National maintained a circulation of just $8,000 and had a mere $270 in large outstanding in 1935. Not surprisingly, this offering is only the third large size to be reported, just one of which has ever appeared at public sale. Fortunately for collectors, it is a pleasing, evenly circulated and solid $20 with attractive color and dark signatures. A very rare note that will certainly be of interest to the many Old Dominion collectors.
