Hendersonville, NC - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 615 The First
National Bank Ch. # (S)8837 PMG Very Fine 20.A significant North Carolina rarity, this note comes from a bank that issued only Red Seals and Date Backs during its brief existence from 1907 until 1913. Prior to the surfacing of this Red Seal, no notes had been reported from this charter that had maintained a circulation of just $25,000. It is an attractive, well margined note with solid paper and a bold red overprint. PMG mentions some staining, which is unimportant given the note's rarity. This rare North Carolina note should generate serious bidding interest tonight.
