Description

Unique for the Bank

Syracuse, NY - $5 Original Fr. 397 The Fourth National Bank Ch. # 1569 PMG Very Fine 20.
A great Syracuse rarity, this is the only reported note from this Onondaga County bank that was in business from just 1865 until its liquidation in 1872, leaving only $715 outstanding in 1910. It traces its provenance to our auction of The Bill Sabis Collection in 2003 and then it made its last public appearance in our 2018 Long Beach auction. It is a bright and attractive note with pleasing color, solid paper, and bold pen signatures.
