Ridgefield, CT - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 477 The First National Bank Ch. # (N)5309 PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.A beautiful $5 Brown Back from a scarce Fairfield County bank, this piece is being publicly offered for the first time. Long listed in the census as CU, it does have the initial look of a fully Uncirculated example. However, upon close examination, a couple of light folds are found as well as evidence of a previous mounting on the back. Still, it faces up quite nicely with wonderful color and dark pen signatures.
