Description
Rodney, MS- Commercial Bank of Rodney $5 "June 1842" G10 Kraus 4354r Remainder PMG Very Fine 25 Net.This note is almost certainly a falsely filled in remainder as the bank had ceased active operations after its charter was surrendered in 1840, with this note dated two years later. Both signatures also appear to be in the same hand. The design features Commerce seated on a wharf, a left end panel containing an oval cameo-like medallion head 5 counter and a FIVE right end panel. PMG notes a bit of ink burn and some very minor repairs that do not overly distract.
