New York, NY- (Delmonico Brothers) 25¢ ND ca. 1862 Harris UNL Proof PMG About Uncirculated 50.The note in this lot is an unlisted variety which was apparently not known to Gordon Harris when he wrote his book New York State Scrip and Private Issues. The Delmonico Brothers owned a restaurant located on No. 2 South Williams Street. Though undated, this example was likely produced during the Panic of 1837, early in the company's existence. PMG mentions that this piece is backed to paper.
