Natchez, MS- Mississippi Shipping Company $10 18__ Kraus 30270p Leggett UNL Proof Choice Crisp Uncirculated.A rare India paper plate letter B Proof printed from plates engraved by Underwood, Bald, Spencer & Hufty. The steamboat Natchez is paired with two sailing ships in the right center vignette. This is only the second example of this Proof that we have auctioned. The other Kraus 30270p that crossed our auction block was in the collection of Eric Newman. It graded PCGS 63 and realized $1,410 in October 2015. Our current Proof offering has at least three margins that are wider than the Newman example and the Newman note has four POCs, while the nicely preserved piece in this lot does not have any POCs.
