Mt. Clemens, MI- Bank of Macomb County $1 Apr. 1, 1858 G22a Lee MOU-1-9 PMG Very Fine 25.This note was issued by the Bank of Macomb County during its second period of operation (ca. 1851-58), having suspended for the first time in the 1840s. The notes were issued within months of the bank's second and final failure in May-June 1858. The bank was placed in receivership on September 15, 1858. Commerce and Agriculture are by a shield bearing a 1 at center with nautical and agricultural vignettes occupying the four corners of the face. A large block letter red ONE and a horse vignette at bottom center complete the design. PMG notes that this example has evidence of previous mounting.
