Francis Hopkinson Signed Pennsylvania March 20, 1771 15s PMG Very Fine 20.The March 20, 1771, Pennsylvania series is an attractive one with red borders, Arms, and devices. The signature of Francis Hopkinson, signer of the Declaration of Independence, appears on some notes from this series. On this plate B example, his nicely accomplished signature appears between those of the other two signers. Hopkinson notes are much scarcer than John Hart notes from New Jersey and John Morton notes from Pennsylvania. Some splits and a tape repair are observed on this moderately circulated example.
