Litchfield, Connecticut Handwritten Payment Certificate Aug. 2, 1776 Very Fine.Payment certificate to Je. Strong to be delivered to Capt. Beebe's and Capt. Bradley's Companies, signed by James Mattocks. Captain James Beebe was in the Continental Army and wintered with George Washington at Valley Forge. Jedediah Strong was a Commissary of Supplies for the Continental Army.
