New Haven, CT- City Bank of New Haven $5 18__ G52b Remainder PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
This institution opened for business in 1832 and merged into the New Haven National Bank, charter 1243, in 1915. The central nautical vignette of a steamboat is flanked by depictions of the Connecticut coat of arms at left and Revolutionary War hero Joseph Warren at right on this attractive $5 remainder. Warren was killed in action at the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775. The design is completed by a red FIVE overprint at bottom center.
