Falls Village, CT- Iron Bank $5-$5-$5-$10 18__ as G8-as G10-G12c-G14c Uncut Sheet Choice Crisp Uncirculated.
The Iron Bank was incorporated in 1847 and remained in business until becoming the National Iron Bank of Falls Village in 1865 with charter number 1214. This sheet is comprised of three $5s and a $10 printed by ABNCo with a striking red overall tint and slightly darker red signature panels. The $5s each feature a different center vignette; the Aa plate $5 depicts two iron workers at a furnace, the Bb plate $5 has a custom vignette of the Great Falls on the Housatonic River at Falls Village, and the Cc plate $5 depicts two men on horseback driving a herd of mixed livestock toward a covered bridge. The $10 has a vignette of an iron worker which also served, in cut down form, as the left vignette on each $5.
