Description

Houston, TX- Consolidated Fund of Texas $100 Sep. 1, 1837 Cr. CF7C Medlar UNL PCGS Banknote Choice VF 35.
One diagnostic present on this Consolidated Fund of Texas $100 piece is the word "his" printed twice on the face, at the beginning of lines two and seven (in front of "heirs" and "legal," respectively). Another characteristic which distinguishes it from the Cr. CF7 variation is the "R" watermarked paper. In his 2007 book, Hugh Shull estimated a surviving population for this number of around 5-15 examples. Our current offering marks the first occasion on which we have auctioned an issued representative for Cr. CF7C. The usual cut cancels are present.
