Description

Georgia 1776 $2 PMG Very Fine 20.
Part of a complex emission that stretched over two years, this $2 note features a blue seal with two jugs floating in water and the motto SI COLLIDIMUS FRANGIMUR (If we collide we will break) promoting the concept that the colonies needed to work together or they would lose. The note is well printed in red, blue, and black ink on bright paper with adequate margins and the bold signatures of Lachlan McGillivray, James Habersham, Edward Telfair, William Ewen, and William O'Bryen. PMG mentions splits and evidence of previous mounting. Neither has any appreciable affect on this attractive note's visual appeal.
