Description

CT33/250 Counterfeit $5 1861 PMG Very Fine 25.
A well done counterfeit executed by S.C. Upham, this note shows a level of effort suggesting that Upham was out to produce something intended for actual circulation in the south rather than just for the northern souvenir trade. The note appears to have spent some time in circulation; one wonders which side of the Mason-Dixon line was the locale for this.
