Description
New Lisbon, OH- The Town Council of New Lisbon 12-1/2¢ (?) July 20, 1837 Wolka 1857-02Discovered after the publication of the state catalog in 2004, this unique representative of an entire issue of 1837 city scrip from New Lisbon would have been described by the late John Hickman as "85% About Good." While generally intact, the left 15% or 20% of the note has gone missing. If someone asks the new owner why such a "rag" is in his or her collection, the cataloger would recommend responding "Oh, show me yours so we can compare them." For as Don Fisher has said, "Bad breath is better than no breath at all." There will be no returns on this lot for any reason.
