Description

Marcellus, NY - $20 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. # 9869 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
A tough Onondaga County bank with a mere 20 small size notes listed in the NBN census. This is far and away the nicest as it is the only Uncirculated piece. Marcellus is a small community located southwest of Syracuse and was named after a Roman general when it was settled in the 1790's (as were the nearby towns of Pompey and Camillus). It is a bright, crisp, and well embossed note that is well deserving of its assigned grade. A lovely upstate New York note.
